Five Point Someone - Author Chetan Bhagat
I had been to Bangalore for a training for entire last week. It was very refreshing as i had time catch with all my old roomies of Delhi. Mr. Binarywaves was one among them. As we were roaming on the so called roads of B'lore, this ex-roomie pointed out to a book on the platform in the name of this post title. He told that that this book is story about 3 IITians who were average students inside IIT(couldnt digest their all India ranks though). I bought out this book as he had recommended it to be very interesting.
The book was so interesting and humourous that i completed the book by the next day(3 hours inside the flight) and 3 hours in the morning after i woke up. Though there was no nostalgia of events for me as was the case for those who read(as i had never been to college during college days). You need not be an IITian to enjoy this book.
Hari, Alok , and Ryan are the main characters of this book. Hari is the actual person who tells all the happenings inside the hostel of IIT Delhi. Though they are of different backgrounds. They share somethign in common - all the three are average students(get a grade of 5/10 that is why Five point someone) and just manage to sneak out of IIT. How they do that is what the book is all about told in a very interesting way(of course you could smell some GRE words...author is also an IITian).
Excellent book to read for non-bookworms and those who want to try something innovative out in their college. The five point graders are refferred to as Commerce students in IIT may be it will hurt the sentiments of a commerce students.
