Sethurama Iyer CBI

After winding up French classes a day before the weekend, it was really horrible since nothing was there to engage me for the weekend. My roomies left me alone to have their mom cooked food in their native town(one guy goes from Delhi to Chennai so frequently that there is a special seat allocated permanently next to the Air hostess in Air Sahara). So when i was just browsing through the paper(Of course Delhi Times), i found that two south indian films(Generally delhites dont know there is a South India and everyone is a Madrassi irrespective of where he is from, some of them dont even know there are languages like Telugu and Malayalam!!!) suprisingly got released in one of the good Multiplex in delhi, One was Virumandi(Telugu) and SethuRama Iyer CBI(Malayalam). So now i worked on a plan to spend the time in any of this, after much thinking i chose to go to SI-CBI(film name shortly pronounced), since i dont get Kamals film even when i see in Tamil itself....

This film was a sequel to "Oru CBI diary Kurippu" starring Mamooty. I have seen only 3 Malayalam film in theatre, one is the "Oru CBI diary Kurrippu", "Iyer the great" and now added to the list was "SethuRama Iyer CBI". The story goes like this an Death Penalty Verdict(Kalabhavan Mani) is found guilty of murdering seven people in two different towns, At first the CBI investigates the issue and confirms that Mani is the killer and fetches him the penalty. Though a Maniac, he then gets rehabilated by a Church Father to whom he confesses that he killed only 6 persons out of the 7 killed. Now comes our CBI officer(Mamooty) as SI-CBI and tracks down the killer of the 7th person. Though the suspense is maintained till the last it somewhere misses the thrill of "Oru CBI diary kurippu" wherein a dowry death gets investigated. But still, after seeing so many Hindi films wherein heroes running behind the trees or giving patriotic speeches as if they are the nation builders, this film comes as a real relaxation.
