Mumbai - Overloaded..

So atleast now Mumbai should understand that their infrastructure is not as good as the people there. The Rain gods in one day have created havoc, think of this huge city near the sea when something like Tsunami occurs. Also being a finanacial capital it is more a target for all Terrorists.

If a blast like the one went in London had happened in this city then the damages would have been umpteen times bigger than that of London. London has an risk plan in place for the entire city including Tubes/Transport/Power/Communication, so everything was up and running the very next day. Now what is the same for Mumbai?? BBC is ridiculing that Mumbai people are themselves searching for dead bodies and carcasses with bare hands.

I even read an article about the infrastructure haphazzards of Mumbai and how it is not fit for being Financial capital anymore. International norms specified for a financial capital is not even partly met by Mumbai.

And in UK they have set upa Toll free to know the status updates for the britishers living in Egypt(for the recent bomb blast), whereas those who are stranded were not able to reach their families through any means in Mumbai. Yeah it is understood that these guys are able to do that becaus eof the(our) money they have, but it doesnt mean that we should not try something like that.

Crooked Spire dome

This is the Crooked Spire Dome built in 1300
AD which is the only religious location available for me here, I have to check whether Avani Aavittam(thread changing ceremony) is being done here since it falls during my stay. The dome is crooked for about 9 metres, seems that some cone icecream maker was chosen as the Mason(Masthry in Tamil) for constructing this. Since this dome resembles the final ending of the top portion of the cone ice cream.

Life in Chesterfield

After landing in Amsterdam I go the first feel of the cost of living on Europe. And Indian attitude is always convert it to our currency so i found that a burger costs Rs. 200 whereas it costs 10 times less in India. I havent seen such a huge airport so far. Amsterdam Airport i think is the biggest in the world and like Bangkok prostitution is legal too ;). It was nearly thrice the size of Dubai airport stretching nearly 3 KM. amsterdam to manchester is an hour flight. Manchester airport was much the size of Chennai airport. I have been accompanied by my two other home sick guys.
office is too cool but sounds like a fish market once you enter in. Too much of security concerns, i have atleast 3 -4 ID cards in all forms and shape, but still tailgating along with other colleagues(i cant avoid being North Indian).
Every half an hour there is a new weather out there. It is very foggy and chill in the morning whereas by the time you have brushed ur teeth it will be sunny. I havent seen when the Sun sets here(that is how the British got their brand name "the sun never sets in the British empire" ). When i wake up at 5 AM in the morning it is still I have been thinking of those fellows who told me that NOIDA is a wretched place lacking proper food and entertainment. It is very necessary for them to visit Chesterfied. Veggies have no option other than Kellogs, Bread, Cheese and Pizza which i'm very well accquainted to in NOIDA itself.
will continue blogging....
