Gangotri and Gomukh

Me and my Southee colleagues are ready to go on a trip to Gangotri today. Will be back only after three days, since we have a official holiday on Monday for an unknown reason(some Memorial day in US :( ). Some info about the places we are about to see.

Gangotri: In the hinterlands of the Himalayas is Gangotri where, it is believed, Ganga, the stream of life, touched earth for the first time.

Gomukh: Source of the Gangotri glacier & source of the river Bhagirathi, Gomukh is located at an altitude of 4200 metres. Gangotri to Gomukh is a 23km trek by walk.

Hoping for a leg paining trip.....

Completed one Year

It has been a Year for me in my current organisation. They had sent a flower bouquet(in tamil we call it as "Vetti Bandha") to my house, they also sent another one in the name of my ex-roomate who had left the organisation a month back(i dont know how come they thought that he is still working). It is actually me who has to felicitate them for keeping me for one year, anyway it happened the other way round. In order to celebrate a party was organised in one of the Posh restaurant(where the bill is expensive food is less) in Noida with all our other colleagues who had completed the tenure.

For sure no one in the HR knows what i'm doing in this Organisation, Hope they will be informed at least by the next tenure period. Till then hoping to continue my guerilla warfare.

Sethurama Iyer CBI

After winding up French classes a day before the weekend, it was really horrible since nothing was there to engage me for the weekend. My roomies left me alone to have their mom cooked food in their native town(one guy goes from Delhi to Chennai so frequently that there is a special seat allocated permanently next to the Air hostess in Air Sahara). So when i was just browsing through the paper(Of course Delhi Times), i found that two south indian films(Generally delhites dont know there is a South India and everyone is a Madrassi irrespective of where he is from, some of them dont even know there are languages like Telugu and Malayalam!!!) suprisingly got released in one of the good Multiplex in delhi, One was Virumandi(Telugu) and SethuRama Iyer CBI(Malayalam). So now i worked on a plan to spend the time in any of this, after much thinking i chose to go to SI-CBI(film name shortly pronounced), since i dont get Kamals film even when i see in Tamil itself....

This film was a sequel to "Oru CBI diary Kurippu" starring Mamooty. I have seen only 3 Malayalam film in theatre, one is the "Oru CBI diary Kurrippu", "Iyer the great" and now added to the list was "SethuRama Iyer CBI". The story goes like this an Death Penalty Verdict(Kalabhavan Mani) is found guilty of murdering seven people in two different towns, At first the CBI investigates the issue and confirms that Mani is the killer and fetches him the penalty. Though a Maniac, he then gets rehabilated by a Church Father to whom he confesses that he killed only 6 persons out of the 7 killed. Now comes our CBI officer(Mamooty) as SI-CBI and tracks down the killer of the 7th person. Though the suspense is maintained till the last it somewhere misses the thrill of "Oru CBI diary kurippu" wherein a dowry death gets investigated. But still, after seeing so many Hindi films wherein heroes running behind the trees or giving patriotic speeches as if they are the nation builders, this film comes as a real relaxation.

Français est bon-French is good

Finally appeared for my French exams last week, After 6 months of driving(at hectic speeds covering 80 Kms every weekend) to my French classes sacrificing all my week ends in Alliance Franchaise de Delhi(shortly AFD). Learning a language requires great patience and practice, but still I wonder how i was able to do this propably might be because of the teacher was quite good looking and also to my ami("friend" in french) who accompanied to the class till last but couldnt make out at the final period because of hectic work in office. I was so regular to French classes(with just cutting only once out of 6 months) i feel myself astonished since i had never failed to pay the Attendance Lag Penalty in my college days.

The exam schedule was quite longue. It went on and on for 3 days but it was quite interessante("interesting" in frecnh :D). The first day was "Joue un Role" where you have enact based on a topic given to you. My topic was like this "Your parents want you to marry a girl of their choice, but you are already madly in love with une autre("another" in french :)) girl from college days, so convince your parents to allow you to marry the girl you prefer". I showed more of acting skills than my French skills for this ;)

The next day was a group discussion, it is unfortunate for me that in my life time the first ever Group Discussion exam i appeared happened to be in French. The topic was "Whether it is necessary to follow the regles(rules) of the Society" , quite a vague one, but some how it went through.

The next day was the Written exam for 2.5 hours. There is a Ecoute(hearing) session wherein you will be played a cassette of some French guys speaking on any topic and you have to answer questions based on it(much similar to Toeffel). We were given five announcements in a Shopping Mall in France, happy that they played it three times, because an average french citizen speaks in Supersonic speed. Now the written paper consisted of Grammaire, comprehension,Reliez(match the following), Letter writing, etc..........

Maintenant("Now" in french)i'm awaiting for the results(My condolences for the teacher who corrects mine). Finally to conclude, this is one worth of an exam no matter if i réussir("succeed" in french) or not.

à bientôt("see you soon" in French)

Main Hoon Na - Before seeing
Main Nahin Hoon Na-After seeing

How come such a talented star like Shah Rukh take a suicidal chance of acting in such a mediocre film. This was the impression I got when I saw the film, also this was accepted by a couple of friends who unfortunately accompanied me to see the film. I was one way happy that i didnt pay from my purse for that stupid stuff since my company sponsored that(they have done much more stupid task when they recruited me so this is a minor affordable one for them).
Imagine a hero chasing a MUV(Scorpio) in a Cycle Rickshaw our own Shah rukh does that, this kinda scene is there in the films since my Grandpa days. I remember seeing a Rajinikanth(Tamil Super star) in which he went to an extent to chase helicopters using Bullock cart. I thought people mindset would have got matured to some extent from those days...And Sushmita sen, Gosh!!! i think she is fit now for "Kasauti" or "Kyunki Saas bhi Bahu thi" Tell Farah Khan(she is the culprit who directed the film) not to appear anywhere near my vicinity then i'll surely end up in Tihar Jail.

And amazingly "Main Hoon Na" is a HIT. Mera Bharat Mahaan!!

Sonia as Indian PM

Atlast after spending much of the tax money of the people in election process, we have chosen our Party to rule. Now there is so much talk going on about the future PM and her origin. It is of course good that people think of Indianness in this aspect But are we really eligible to talk about that??

We are always fond of Foreign goods(be it Pepsi, Coke, Gillette,Sony...), we think they are of good quality than the Made in India brand, also take for eg. outsourcing of business, will you allow an Indian company to move its work to Sri-Lanka or Phillipines, but you want the work of US or UK instead. Somewhere or the other we are in need of Foreign touch. You may consider it ridiculous if i say why cant a PM also be a foreigner. I'm not inclined to any political party and i merely consider this as a logical reasoning.

Who started Congress?
Was it Mahatma Gandhi or Nehru not at all it was started by Sir Allen Octavian Hume to bring mutual harmony between British and Indians. Did some one oppose Hume for starting such organisation since he being a Britisher, instead everyone joined it right from Gandhi, et al....

Did you oppose MOther Teresa in doing some good for her being a foreigner from the latest did you oppose John Wright being the Coach of Indian cricket team( Doesnt India have great ex-cricketeers ??). Just because she is the PM she cant go ahead sell the nation over night to her origin country.

Now it is agreeable if you question Sonias inexperience in politics but not her origin, to be more open i prefer Sonia as PM among the current elected lots than the native indians like Laloo Prasad Yadav or Mulayam.
