Fastest Trip to Nainital

Last weekend out of boredom me and my sardar room mate decided to go to Nainital, Ranikhet and Almorah. I though was dead against going to a Hill Station during the season for the fear of not getting any accomodation. But still started by 5:00 AM in the Saturday morning none of us knew the route but still vaguely i remembered the Morodabad, Haldwani and Kathogodagam as i had been to nainital with my friends already. We took two greatest risks one is that we didnt book any accomodation prior and second my car had an punctured stepni.

Quite astonishingly the road was good though single lane, so we reached Haldwani by 10 AM which is some 250 KM away. From there the mountain route starts. There is a by pass now which doesnt even go via Kathgodam. From Kathgodam it is 35 KM to Nainital. There were only 2 or 3 U bends at maximum not so steep like Ooty. After reaching Nainital by 11:30 AM we found to our horror that there were no rooms available, those available were highly priced(a Rs. 200 room costed Rs. 3000).

So parked the car in the car parking and we both decided to sleep inside the car for the night....and we wasted an entire day searching around the Naini lake for accomodation. Since we both were tired we had a comfortable sleep inside the car(actually more than comfortable staying in the room which were stinky), took a bath in the Gurudwara near the parking lot. So on Sunday only were free to roam around.. This time the sky was very clear so decided to see the Nanda Devi by going on the rope rail(we couldnt view it last time)...oh man it was wonder full. Returning back we took a boat ride for an hour....at that time we recieved a call from our third room mate that he didnt visit the home at all on the friday night and has gone to his native place. We hadnt locked our house as we thought that this guy was sleeping inside. Now nobody could have driven so faster than me in that mountains inspite of seeing an Alto car in the front falling into the slopes in one of the curves. We started by 3:30 in the evening and with fully traffic we reached home by 8:00 thats the kinda speed we were doing.

Fortunately our servant maid had locked the house with her own lock and given the keys to the security as she had come to clean the house and found that there was no one inside. Oh man this was the most riskiest and adventurous trip(no accomodation, no Spare Tyre the entire trip, and finally house is not locked) we had though with total mis management.

Still managed to pose for some pics .....

Roadblocks of Infrastructure development...

Two days of News covered all major infrastructure projects being blocked due to various reasons. The Bangalore - Mysore highway project came to a halt because of land issues, The golden quadrilateral project(which could boost india's transporting leaps and bounds) is blocked at various levels including land, contractors, bureaucracy and Red Tapism. The severe of them all the $12 Billion investment by POSCO at Orissa is hit again due to one of the above reasons.

Whereas rogue companies like Reliance has grabbed the entire land of Haryana because of their influence on the government some 40,000 acres of agricultural land to develop a Special Economic Zone(SEZ). One time it is good to see Private companies trying to build india but the same time there is an imminent danger of Monopoly by the same.

Why can't India follow China in developing infrastructure. We cannot blame on Democracy because we can take example of DMRC(Delhi Metro) which they implemented inspite of opposition of MP's and MLA's who had their Bungalows on its way. This was possible because of the autonomy given by the government.

no blogging for a long time

Been to Chennai for a week, you have got BMW, Motorola, NOKIA factories setup..heard Volkswagen is in the pipeline there..Surely Chennai is rocking in terms of Market value still the flyover for kathipara junction stands like a monument in Rome (fit for archeological survey of INdia to put an entry fee for it as it has been estimated to take 2 years to complete). Infrastructure of the city is zero much resembling current B'lore, now the change of govt. surely will make the ruling family richer next only to Mittals but no facelift of the city- but immediately KK Nagar was renamed to Kalaignar nagar in govt buses(only visible evidence of change of govt every 5 years) .
Even my company opened a shop there, came to know that too in the arterial Anna Salai with Theatres on either side and the office premises being a famous theatre too...oh man i luv to work there now just for the entertainment (but still Chennai sucks 4 me when compared to Delhi). Somehow made arrangements that im not given a pink slip in house searching in Delhi.
Home was boring with the SUN and Jaya TV spoiling the value of an 51 inches wide Flat screen with woofers, was saved because of the Broadband connection and my friends marriage during the stay.
Unfortunately saw a tamil film called JERRY(Crazy Mohan productions) with my close friends. It made me recollect all the forgotten bad words in Tamil because they werent sufficient to abuse that film so added some Hindi, Punjabi and even French bad words alongwith. Only after my Tamil Nadu Express started towards Delhi i got a sigh of relief and this time really enjoyed the trip because of some equally humourous gang around in the coach.
